Obituary of Charlene E. Slaunwhite (Gray)
Slaunwhite (Gray), Charlene E.: It is with heavy hearts that we announce Charlene’s passing On April 9, 2015 in Palliative Care, VG Site QEII, following a courageous 7 year battle with cancer. With Richard, her loving husband supporting her throughout her battle, Charlene was able to remain at home as long as possible. Born in Halifax, at 49 Charlene was the youngest of eight children of the late Stewart and Winnifred (Hartlen) Slaunwhite. Charlene took great pride in watching her son, Cody play baseball, whether local games or away, she would be there cheering him on. Charlene enjoyed family gatherings and dances, and was an avid Bingo and card player. Even though she couldn’t see as well as the others, that didn’t stop or slow her down. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard, and her dearly cherished son, Cody. She is survived by her sisters, Joan and Marlene; brothers, Harold, Donald, Rodney, and Ricardo. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara. Special thanks to the staff of 7A Palliative Care, VG Site, QEII, and all family and friends who supported her with numerous appointments.
Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where a memorial service in memory of Charlene will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel.
