Obituary of John D. McNeil

83, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Duncan and Mary McNeil. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Theresa (Gallant); daughters, Susan (Randy Laffin), Gail McNeil and Janice (Jim Bullen); grandchildren, Holly and Jessica (Jonathan Campbell) McGrath, Mitchel and Christopher Singer; great grandson, Colton Campbell; sister, Shirley Carpenter. He was predeceased by brother, Allan; sister, Jean McNeil. In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 21 at 10:00 am in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Fr. Morris as celebrant; reception to follow in the church hall. Committal will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to QEII Foundation Palliative Care Research (QE2Foundation.ca).
