Obituary of Rita Margaret Snow (Turner)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Rita Margaret Snow, on July 11, 2015 in Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS. Born in Halifax Nov. 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Ann (Kennedy) Turner. She is survived by sons, Ernie (Nancy), Stewiacke; Gerald, Halifax; Ken (Darlene), Gaetz Brook; Jimmy (Marion), Dartmouth; daughters, Sandra McNeil, Redcliffe, AB; Nancy Schnare, Halifax; Mary Barkhouse (Oliver), Pembroke; Shirley (Partner - Miles), Halifax; Sheila (Mark), Halifax; brother, Ted (Adele) Turner, Halifax, sister, Phyllis Peters, Halifax; 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Snow; daughter Patricia "Pat" Snow; grandson, David Snow; sons-in-law, Danny McNeil and Ronnie Schnare; brother, Harry Turner and sister, Lorraine Westhaver. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held Wednesday, July 15 from 6-8 pm. Funeral Service to be held Thursday, July 16 at 1:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel, Reverend Gordon Relf officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to any charity of one's choice. We would like to thank the Fourth Floor staff for their great care and compassion given to our mother during her stay at Arborstone. We would like to say a big thanks to her roommate, Bubbles and her daughter, Jackie for the friendship they shared with her.
