Obituary of Bruce Marriott

Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 20, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ruben and Elizabeth (Bellefontaine) Marriott. Bruce was fondly known as the mayor of Kline Heights. He was a life long parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church. He was a self employed grocery store owner for many years and later in life worked for HRM. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Marion (Slaunwhite); daughters, Shelley Baker (Ray) and Cathy Marriott; grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Jacob and Samantha; brother, David Marriott; sisters, Mardy, Viola, Edna and Bernadette. He was predeceased by brothers, Joe, Doug and Ruben; sister, Madeline. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (902-477-5601), where visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23 from 2-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 24 at 11AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation and burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.
