Obituary of Simone Ellen Lewis
Lewis, Simone Ellen (Dutin) of Halifax, slipped away peacefully on August 6th, 2015 with her family by her side. Daughter of the late Henri and Veronica (Barrett) Dutin.
Simone was a loving wife to Jimmy Lewis for 27 years. She was a devoted Mother to Amy (Matthew), Neil (Kalene) and her baby boy, Robert; as well as a cherished Nana to her little ‘bestie’ Kinleigh Rose and new arrival Barrett Simone. Simone is survived by her sisters, Anne (Roger), Pat (Greg), Andree, brother, Joseph and her many loved nieces and nephews.
Simone was a dedicated employee of Heppy’s Pie Lady for 16 years, her ‘do it right’ attitude, hard work and laughter will be truly missed. Simone enjoyed many things in life; besides being a bargain shopper and a road runner as she was known, Simone cherished her time spent at Riverland Campground with all of her ‘peeps’. She could be heard singing along to the radio all throughout Little Nashville. Simone may have lost her battle with cancer but her strength was truly inspirational. Her quick wit and humor stayed with her until her final days. She truly believed that life is what we make of it and often said, "it is what it is".
We would like to thank Dr. Lamond and Jodi from the Canadian Cancer Clinic for their care of our Mother and a special thank you to Glena Thornhill from Palliative Care for her support.
A celebration of her life will be held on August 15, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 14 St. Michaels Avenue, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers the family request that a donation be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
