Obituary of Thomas Ray Cox
Age 75, of Halifax, passed away august 30, 2015 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary site. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ray B. Cox and Jean M. George. Thomas worked many jobs working his last job at the Grain Elevator before he retired. He is survived by daughter Sheila Cox; spouse Jeanette Reid; younger brother Robert Cox as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Thomas was predeceased by his parents; wife Sheila Ann Cox (Macleod); stepfather Charles W. Della Torre; brothers Ray B. Cox (Jr), Joseph A. Cox and sister Donna M. Ross.
Dad was always in blue jeans and blue top, so at the request of the family, please wear something blue as it was his favorite color.
The family would like to extend their gratitude towards the EMS, doctors and nurses from the emergency department and floor 8.3 at the QEII as well as to the VON and RJF for making dad happy and comfortable. A special thanks to RJF care giver Irwin.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where a visitation will be held Thursday September 3 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A service of remembrance will be held on September 4 at 11:00am from the Funeral Home Chapel. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Children’s Wish, The Canadian Lung Association or a charity of one’s choice including the SPCA.
