Obituary of Georgina C. Saulnier
Saulnier (Keating), Georgina Caroline: 70, Halifax, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Michael Saulnier and the late Evelyn Michaud (Dave). Georgina was a giving woman, always wanting to be around people. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, and treasured her kitty, Missy. She will be remembered for her love of the telephone, playing cards and reading. In her youth she was a dental hygienist in AntigonishCounty for Dr. Mary Hurst and was the former owner and operator of Millbrook Restaurant in Guysborough County. Georgina is survived by her daughters, Billie-Jo "BJ" Keating, Halifax, and Angelique Walters (Mike), Dartmouth, her cherished grandchildren, Tyler (Cassy), Kenzie, Michael and Adam, one special great-grandson, Landen, her former husband, William "Bill" Keating, sister, Cathy Joe (Sidney) and brother, Garth MacDonald (Helen), as well as a friend, Paulette. She was predeceased by her father, Michael Saulnier, mother, Evelyn Michaud, and step-father, Dave Michaud, as well as her sister, Patricia MacDonald.
Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM. A service in memory of Georgina will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11 AM from St. Paul’s United Church, Spryfield, with Rev. Catherine MacDonald as officiating clergy.
