Obituary of Bessie May Snow
93, Halifax, NS, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Spryfield, she was a daughter of the late William and Florence (Marriott) Robinson. Bessie was proud to have been a resident of Spryfield all her life. She dearly loved children and she treated her nieces and nephews like her own grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker and babysitter who loved all special occasions, never forgetting any. Bessie will fondly be remembered as a loyal and dedicated Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan. She will be sadly missed by her only surviving sister, June Strople, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Snow, her only son, Roy, sisters, Alice, Margaret, Annie and Nellie, as well as brothers, Stanford, Walter, Frederick "Fred", Kenny, Harold and Roy. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to a special caregiver, Roxanne, who took such good care of Bessie for over four years. Also a special thanks to all the workers and "special" nurses of Northwood Home Care and VON for their care and compassion, and to Dr. Hugh Matheson for his dedication to Bessie.
Arrangements are under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (902.477.5601), where visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 6-8 pm. A funeral service in memory of Bessie will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 1 PM from the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception. Interment will take place in Emmanuel Anglican Church Cemetery. Donations may be made to Emmanuel Church Cemetery Fund.
