Obituary of Joan P. Deagle (Tracey)

Deagle (Tracey), Joan Patricia:  81, Halifax, NS.  Joan passed away peacefully in Halifax on October 30, 2015 in the geriatric unit (9th floor) of the Abbey J. Lane Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.  Born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late David and Georgina (MacDonald) Tracey.  Mom loved her visits by her children, grandchildren and family. She enjoyed country music, watching her stories, trips to Wal-Mart, and enjoying her life.  She is survived by her sons, Joey and  Weldon "Boomer" (Paula), her daughters, Patty (Lenny), Sandy (Deb), and Joyce (Mike), sisters, Lillian, Joyce, Nancy, brothers, David, Johnny, Billy, and Patty, her treasured grandchildren Courtney, Matthew, Kevin, Tracey, Michael, Michelle, and Matthew, as well as 5 cherished great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Bobby, sister, Yvonne and a daughter, Georgina who passed at birth.  Mom, thank you for raising us to be the people that we are today. We will always love you and miss your sharp wit and wonderful smile.  Many thanks to the Geriatric Unit on the 9th floor of the Abbey J. Lane Memorial Hospital for all the wonderful and thoughtful care they provided Mom in her final days and showing us the compassion and caring we truly needed Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS, (902-477-5601).  A memorial service will be held in memory of Joan on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 10 AM from The Salvation Army, Westville Corp, 2011 Diamond Street, Westville, NS, with Capt. Fred Jeffrey as officiant.  Interment will take place in Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow, NS.  Donations may be made to the Salvation Army.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
