Obituary of Joan Mary Delaney
Age 76, Halifax, passed away peacefully November 13th, 2015 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, surrounded by her family. Joan was the daughter of late Harold and Jean Worth, born February 6, 1939 in Guysborough, NS.
She retired from the DND dockyard after 36 years of dedicated service.
Joan is survived by her loving and devoted husband Milton, two adored sons, Jeffery (Lauri) and Mark (Erin), grandchildren Katelyn, Tyler, Kaleigh, Brenden and Kenidy; brothers, Emmett, Jerome (Daneen); sisters, Marie (Jack), Vera, Brenda (Alex); sisters-in-law, Lorna (Fred), Agnes (Jim) and Mary; brothers-in-law, Billy (Ruby) and Larry Maloney. Joan was predeceased by brothers; Donald, Nelson and James; sisters, Barbara and Pauline.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, where visitation will be held today, November 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held Tuesday, November 17 at 11 a.m. from St. Michael’s Catholic Church, St. Michael’s Avenue, Spryfield. Interment to take place in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In-lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Canadian Liver Foundation. Special thanks to the RNs and LPNs of Unit 8.2 at the QEII and the workers of Closing the Gap homecare for their recent care of Joan.
