Obituary of G. Carole Briand
BRIAND, Geraldine "Carole": 72, Halifax, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Philip Boyle and M. Vola Derbyshire (Stuart). For many years, she had worked at the former Nova Scotian Hotel. Carole was a crosswalk guard, enjoyed babysitting, and will be remembered for always putting others first. She was always willing to give a listening ear and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Vola Derbyshire, sons, Philip, William (Tracy), and Troy (Candice), daughter, Trina (Everol), her longtime companion, Colin Publicover, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Russell Boyle and Terry Boyle, a sister, Marilyn Boyle, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Philip Boyle. A special thanks to everyone at Sullivan’s Lane, Parkstone for all the loving care given.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 2 PM in the chapel. A reception will follow.
