Obituary of Francis Anthony Charles "Frank" LeBlanc
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Francis Anthony Charles LeBlanc on Thursday January 14, 2016 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Frank was a son of the late Roy and Laura LeBlanc.
He was a cherished brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend who was loved by all that crossed his path. Frank spent most of his life living in Spryfield and was a proud community member. Frank worked for a number of years with the Department of Government Services as an electrical foreman. He was a proud family man who was happiest when all his family was with him at home or the cottage. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus as past Grand Knight. He spent many years volunteer coaching for the St. Michael’s Saints hockey team, known at the arena as Boom Boom LeBlanc. Frank was a devoted parishioner at St. Michael’s Parish in Spryfield. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Ruth; daughters, Yvette (Jeff Hollett); Suzanne (Brian Sutherland); adoring grandchildren, Taylor and Heidi; sister, Noreen (Carl) Meade; brother, Allan; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by sister Charlene LeBlanc.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. where visitation will be held Monday January 18 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Tuesday January 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church St. Michael’s Ave. Father Alfred Eshun as celebrant. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prescott Group, where Frank’s sister Charlene spent many happy times.
