Obituary of Keary-Lee H. Gray
39, Halifax. It is with heavy hearts that we announce that on January 15, 2016 Keary received her wings. Born on February 17, 1976, she was a daughter of Kathy Drysdale and Gary Gray, birth father, Charlie Darrah.
Keary had a larger than life personality and has touched the hearts of many with her nurturing personality, helping in any way possible. She was involved with the Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre, where she gained an interest in different beliefs, spirituality and healing within the Mi'kmaw culture. She had a love of fashion and was known for making a statement. She will be remembered for her wild sense of humor, her courage and strength throughout the tough times.
Keary’s legacy and reason for pushing through all of life’s struggles were her three beautiful, loving children, David Lee, Mya and Quentin. They were her sunshine on a cloudy day. She is also survived by sister, Donna Gray (Clarence Naugle); grandmothers, Muriel Gray and Helen McKenzie. She will be deeply missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends from near and far. She was predeceased by her stepfather, James Drysdale; grandfathers, Lloyd Gray and Ronald McKenzie.
The family would like to thank everyone who has been in Keary’s life. Special thanks to the Adsum House, Steppingstone and the Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre for all they have done for her over the years.
Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, where visitation will be held on Friday, January 22 from 12-2PM, followed by a service of remembrance in the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow the service. Donations in memory of Keary may be made to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.
