Obituary of Isha S. H. Davis

Isha Sharisma Helena Davis, age 40 of St. Vincent and the Grenadines passed away March 14, 2016 at the QueenElizabethIIHospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born in the GrenadineIsland of Bequia to Sylvester and Joan Simmons. Isha was the eldest of three other siblings. She is survived by husband Peter Davis, sister’s Josyl Headley and husband (Randy) and Michelle Small and husband (Nolan) and brother Kasai Simmons. Mother-in-Law Monica Audain, Nieces, Reanna Cox Simmons, Kia Simmons, Nathalie and Natalia Small. Nephews, Aiden Small, Randy (Rj) and Jaaziah Headley.  Isha was an employee of MountSt. VincentUniversity, and recent graduate, class of 2015, Masters of Education. Isha was an advocate for lifelong learning and literacy in education at all levels; even incorporating lunch and learn sessions for her colleagues. She was also an avid reader of Black novels (Mya Angelou, bell hooks and Terry McMillan). She was an active member of the Mount’s Africentric Support Group and helped develop their mentorship program. Isha was an active part of SheffieldBaptistChurch worship team, music committee and choir. Isha was known for her generosity, wit and direct characteristic. Isha was very social and had and colossal social network of friends and acquaintances. She will be missed by her many Cousins, Aunts and Uncles and other family members, numerous friends from around the world, her coworkers/colleagues at Mount Saint Vincent University and Church family at Sheffield Baptist. The funeral service for our beloved Isha will be on Saturday March 19, 2016 at Sheffield Baptist Church, 80 Lincoln Cross Dr. Viewing commences at 12:30 and the service will begin at 2pm. Isha’s body will be taken back to her country of birth where a Funeral service and burial will take place on April 2, 2016. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards a memorial for Isha.
