Obituary of Shirley Mary Norman

 Age 66, of Williamswood, It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Norman on April 18, 2016 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre surrounded by the love of her family. Shirley was a daughter of the late Mary and Ralph Fougere.  She is predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Daniel Norman. Shirley is survived by her daughter Lisa Norman (David); son Fred Norman (Shelly); grandchildren Jessica and Noah; sisters Anna Norman (Charlie), Brenda LaRade (Jules), Lorraine Trenholm (Gary), Claire Daniels (Frankie), Verna Comeau (Edward), Veronica Quinten (Serge) and Denise Fougere (Lawrence); brothers Bradford Fougere, Emery Fougere, Charlie Fougere and Raymond Fougere as well as many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her sister Glenna Rose Fougere. Shirley recently retired from Sears after over forty years, where she made many lifelong friends. She loved attending Sunday mass, tending to her flower gardens and reading a good book in the sun. She was a happy person who loved spending time with her friends and family. She had a flair for life and the adventure to try many new things. She especially loved her grandchildren who owned the soft spot in her heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax where a visitation will take place Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 2 -4 PM and from 6-8 pm . A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church with a reception in the church hall after the service. Interment to follow at Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Family flowers appreciated or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of 8.4 at the QEII for the great care and also to her family who stayed tirelessly by her side.
