Obituary of Paul Hamilton "PeeWee" Evans

Evans, Paul Hamilton "PeeWee":  82, Halifax, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, May 29, 2016.  Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late James and Eva (Peg) Evans.  Paul retired from HRFD in 1989, following 34 years of service.  Paul was also well known as a great hockey player in the 1950’s with the St. Mary’s Juniors and the North Sydney Franklins.  He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, who was funny and had a dry sense of humour. He was always a good listener and will be remembered for keeping the secrets you shared with him.  Paul will be terribly missed by his loving wife, Carol (MacNeil), four children, Wendy Eisan (Bruce), Kim (Alma), Paul (Lynn), and David, all of Halifax.  He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his four grandchildren, Kelly, Jason, Ashley and Courtney, as well as six great-grandchildren.  Dad, you are our hero and we are all going to miss you.  You will be forever in our hearts.  He was predeceased by his brother, James of San Diego, USA.   Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 14 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (902.477.5601).  In keeping with Paul’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  A family gathering will be held at a later date.  In memory of Paul, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
