Obituary of Frederick Irvin John Boyle

Age 74, Halifax, passed away at home on December 28, 2016, after a brief battle with brain cancer. Born in Halifax, August 30, 1942, he was a son of Arietta (Fralick), Edmonton, Alta. and the late Frederick "Buster" Boyle. In his younger years, Fred was an excellent pool player and later years was avid reader and took a strong interest in many facets of spirituality and life priority. Self employed his entire life, he spent many years operating a paving company, retired from paving to drive taxi for the last 15 years. He was always a hard working man, working seven days a week until sickness took over in September. He enjoyed driving taxi and spoke of the interesting people he met during his days and often helped them out with favors and sometimes finances. Fred is survived by wife, Sharon (Roose); son, Frederick "Jock" (Cindy); daughters, Andrea, Calgary, Alta.; Nicky, Halifax; sisters, Doris (Bob) Baker, Edmonton, Alta.; Carol (Al) Snow, Calgary, Alta; brother-in-law, Eric MacDonald; grandchildren Megan, Melanie, Christopher, Kristie, Kate-Lyn, Jason, April; great grandchildren, Hayden, Lucas and Landon. He was predeceased by sister, Maureen MacDonald and grandson, Dylan Josey. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd, where visitation will be held Thursday January 5 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday January 6 from 12-2 p.m., followed by a service of remembrance at 2 p.m., Pastor Josh Crawford as celebrant. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to charity of choice.
