Obituary of Joan B. "Babe" Marriott

MARRIOTT, Joan Bernadette "Babe" – 81, Spryfield, passed away on May 1, 2017 in Melville Lodge. Born in Halifax, on September 10, 1935, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret Marriott. When Joan wasn’t spending time with and taking care of those she loved, her greatest passions were dancing, music and long walks amongst nature. She touched many lives and left a lifetime of wonderful memories for her family and friends. She is survived by children, Vivian, Teresa, Kim and Kenneth; grandchildren, Kathleen, Lindsay, Wayne, Trisha, Hilary and Tyler; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald and Paul (Joann); sisters, Virginia, Marion (Stan) and Beverly (Robert). She was predeceased by son, Michael; brother, Walter. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, where a Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 1 PM from the funeral home chapel; followed by a reception. Donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
