Obituary of Robert "Bob" Bradbury
Bradbury, Robert "Bob" of Spryfield, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017, at his home surrounded by family. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late James and Josephine (Malone) Bradbury.
In Bobs younger years, he worked as a sheet metal worker in various parts of Canada. In 1983, he began his employment with the Nova Scotia government at various locations and retired from Capital Health in 2008. Bob had a passion for animals and loved his "Lady" dog and "Tippy" and "JoJo" cats. He was an extremely talented man and could turn his hand to any task. He loved fishing, music and riding his scooter. He also loved to travel with Edith and enjoyed their times spent in Jamaica and the Dominican.
Bob is survived by his wife, Edith (Dunphy) Bradbury; his son, Robert Devon Bradbury, Vancouver, BC; brother James Bradbury (Nancy) sisters, Joanne Doward (Len), Halifax, NS, M. Alice Hogan (Roger) Tillsonburg, ON and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his step-children, Daniel Pearson (Sarah McCarthy), Tara (Greg); step-grandchildren, John, DJ and Thomas Pearson; as well as many close friends. He was predeceased by brothers, Peter and Jacob as well as, step-son, Raymond "Steven" Pearson.
A special thank you to the Palliative Care Team for their tireless hours ensuring Bob’s comfort and to Irene Walsh a dear friend to Edith. Also thank you to Father Alfred Eshun of St. Michaels’ Parish for his blessing and prayers.
Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield where visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9 from 7-9 PM. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, May 10 at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
