Obituary of Stanley "Eddy" E. Dodge

61, Spryfield, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Rita Loretta Dodge and the late Stanley Joseph Dodge. Eddy worked for HRM for 33 years as a heavy equipment operator. He loved his family and they were the focal point of his life. He was the best husband, father, granddad and friend you would ever want to have. He had a big heart and would help anyone in need. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Eddy is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda; children, Ray (Kelly), Barry (Sherri), Heather (Randy) and David (Shauna); many grandchildren; brothers, Billy (Lynn) and Jimmy; sister, Louise. He was predeceased by sister, Rita. Special thanks to Dr. Hugh Matheson and Fran of the Spryfield Medical Centre for their compassionate care and support. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, where visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10 at 2 PM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
