Obituary of Arlene F. Bannister

Age 57. It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Arlene on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Arborstone Enhanced Care, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax on October 1, 1960, Arlene grew up in the Spryfield area, attended school and graduated from J. L Ilsley High School. She was active in Girl Guides as a Brownie, Girl Guide, Pathfinder and Rangers. She was also a Brownie Leader. Arlene later moved to the Williamswood area and was self employed. She is survived by her parents, Bryan and Frances (Coyle) Bannister, Williamswood; brother, Patrick (Kathy) and nephew Koa Bannister, East Lawrencetown; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins here in Nova Scotia, Ontario, BC and England. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Lewis and the nursing staff; the care givers at Arborstone and Elaine Davison for their compassionate care and support. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel.
