Obituary of John Dennis McKerness

Age 69, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at home after a short but aggressive battle with cancer.

He enjoyed playing the guitar and piano; loved to play darts and would play every week at the complex where he lived. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

John is survived by his sons; Robert (Willena), Gary (Maria), Darin (Wanda); grandsons, Robert John, Robert Jr., Logan, Porter, Leland, Riley, Brodie and Dallas; sister, Diane; brothers, Dane and Dean. Many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Sheila; brothers, Doug and Danny; grandson, Tyler.

Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday April 5 at 2p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow at 166 Cowie Hill Road, in the community room.
