Obituary of Hugh John MacLeod

Age 89, Halifax, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the Veterans Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Grand River, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Alex and Sadie MacLeod.

A veteran of the Korean war, Hughie served with 2 RCHA, stationed in Japan and Germany. While in Germany he was transferred to RCEME. After the war he was an Esso dealer in Halifax and Bedford.

Hughie is survived by sons, Keith (Wendy), Clyde (Sonya) and Glen (Cathy); grandchildren, Katie, Leanne, Connor and Danielle; great grandchildren, Abriella and Scotty; He was predeceased by his wife, Louise in 1988 and his long time companion, Margo MacKillop in 2008; brothers, Roddie (Annie), Ontario, Donald (Sally), Grand River; sister Jean Myers, Halifax.

In keeping with Hughie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at a later date in Lewis Cove Cemetery, Cape Breton, Rev. Kevin Richardson officiating.
