Obituary of Vincent Richard Norris

Terence Bay. It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Vincent at his home in Terence Bay on Tuesday, September 5^th, 2018. He was born in Halifax on August 10, 1948 to Vincent and Jane Norris. 

He attended schools in Halifax before moving to Terence Bay. For years he worked at a variety of building supply companies and before he retired was employed at the Department of Transportation. He was a passionate conservative and equally passionate about his community, having volunteered for the Terence Bay Fire Department for years. In his retirement years, he loved playing cards on Wednesday and Saturday nights and always looked forward to his Friday night sociable. Calling his friends and neighbours, to check in on them and to update them on the latest weather forecast, became one of his favorite pasttimes. He loved living in the Bay, especially ``up the river``. He could look out at the river every day from his picture window in the living room and when he was well, spent time boating on that river. But most of all, he enjoyed his special time with his grandchildren, all of whom brought joy to his life. He was proud of Allie and TJ and supported all their athletic endeavours. As for the ``little ones``, (Chloe, Grady and Ty) their visits always brought a smile to his face.

He is survived by his children, Kim (Farley), Jeff (Delisca), Tim (Ashley); his grandchildren, Allie, TJ, Chloe, Grady and Ty; his devoted and loving partner, Gail Slaunwhite; brothers, Paul (Annette), David (Gaelyne); sister, Wanda (Dennis) and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and niece, Paula. 

The family sincerely thanks all those who have cared for and supported Dad during his declining health.  The calls, visits, transportation and all kindnesses were greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, September 9, from 2-4 pm at the Terence Bay Community Hall at 80 Sandy Cove Rd., Terence Bay. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Vince may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
