Obituary of Kenneth Norman Dawson
Age 62, Halifax, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 24, 2018. He was a son of the late Alfred and Moyra (Harriett) Dawson. Watching sports was one of Kenny’s favorite pass times, especially his favourite teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He was an avid collector of anything small, such as coins, and he was the guy to go to when you needed anything because he had anything you could think of. He loved to tell jokes to his friends and family, even if the jokes weren’t to funny. Kenny was a loving, caring family man; his son Paul meant the world to him, but this world changed when his two beautiful granddaughters were born. Kenny loved his granddaughters and would pick them up from school and take them out to wherever they wanted to go; they were the apple of his eye. He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Peggy Dawson, they were inseparable and loved each other through the rough and hard times, sickness and in health; son, Paul Dawson; brothers, Wayne, Jackie and Jerry; sisters, Carol and Debbie; granddaughters, Delaney and Lydia; Jenna and Zoe who thought the world of Kenny and called him grandad; loving mother-in-law, Kay, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Jimmy Dawson; sisters, Ronda and Kathy. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road. In keeping with Kenny’s wishes, there will be a funeral service held in the chapel Thursday November 29, 2018 at 1p.m., with a burial at a later date.
