Obituary of Gerald Donald Clarke

70, Sackville, NS, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 24, 2018 at home.  He was the son of the late Gertrude and George Clarke.  Gerry had worked for Metro Housing Authority for over 20 years.  He was a kind and gentle man, who lived a simple life.  He loved his family deeply and could always been seen playing little pranks on his wife.  He was always there when anyone needed him.  Gerry loved to rabbit and deer hunt, and to fish.  He could fix almost anything that broke with a screw driver or hammer.  He was not a man of many words but had many friends.  He liked sports, played baseball, and was an avid Patriots fan.  Most of all, Gerry loved his road trips to the valley with Kay.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, and soulmate, Catherine “Kay” (MacMillan), his two sons, Chris (Jenn) and Justin (Kim), his 6 grandchildren, Brody, Hayley, Craig (Angela), Chelsea (Andrew), Hayden, and Ashtyn, and his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Mason and Kayleigh.  He is also survived by his siblings, Harold "Beanie" (Debbie), Gordie (Wendy), and Janet (Rick), as well as several loving aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.  Gerry was predeceased by his parents, his step-father, Howard “Howie” MacDonald, sister, Judy, brother, George “Boo”, and his daughter, Carrie-Anne.

In keeping with Gerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11 AM from St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Lower Sackville.   Donations in memory of Gerry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS.
