Obituary of Richard Jeffrey

Age 68 of Spryfield passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax surrounded by family. Richard was born on October 31, 1950 to Clarence and Vivian (LeRue).

His passion was working with wood and he operated Jeffrey’s Construction Limited for years and after that designed and built many items over the years for his family and others. His projects were his own design, visualizing a finished project and completing it to perfection – he was not a fan of using a plan from a book. His family was in awe when he once had a long chunk of wood delivered to their property, eventually using that piece as the start of a beautiful 30’ cabin cruiser that he completed. His failing health prevented him from pursuing his passion for the past number of years, but to the very end he never give up his dream of some day being able to work on projects again. He was happiest for the past six months as his daughter and granddaughter (who he adored) moved back to Halifax and he spent time with them almost daily.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Sharon (Dean), daughter Christine Conrad and granddaughter Kenzie Conrad, both of Halifax, brother Peter (Pam), of Timberlea and sisters, Vivian Jeffrey (Donnie) of Dean, Francine Christian (Roy) of Dartmouth and Annette Jeffrey (Jeff Mercer) of Sambro, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Anne-Marie Jeffrey.

Cremation has taken place under the care of J. ALbert Walker Funeral HOme (2005) Ltd. In keeping with Richard’s wishes there will be no funeral. A private family graveside service will be held in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Sackville.
