Sending my condolences to Don’s family and friends. I will certainly miss Don as I enjoyed him so much working with him politically. I always called him the mayor of the Glebe Rd. ( he liked that). I will miss his sense of humour and his dedication. I learned so much from him.
He was a great person. RIP my friend.

To the family,
My heart goes out to you in this time of loss. Losing someone that means so much to you is very difficult, so may the words at Psalm 46:1 and 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 to comfort and sustain you.

Saying goodbye to someone we love is heartbreaking. May you find comfort in all the special memories shared with your father/grandfather. Don was a very special man. So happy I had the opportunity to spend time with him and you Marilyn in January reminiscing all the great times our families had on the Glebe. Lot’s of memories were created during that 50 years. I wonder what kind of trouble Don & Dad are getting into in heaven.
Know that I am thinking of you and sending love and hugs your way!

Dear Marilyn, Paul and your families.Your Dad- Don and I were close friends throughout the years as we were both Nova Scotians. We did many things together and always had yarns to tell about our childhoods - politics and many other subjects.I'll miss his morning visits, exchanging books and picking blackberries. He was one of a kind and we'll all miss him. Sympathy to you all. Dale & Dixie Lively.

We extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family. May the soul of Don be at peace with our Heavenly father. I will always remember how Don and his team watched as I backed out Dad's Hydro truck out of the driveway so I could gain access to Dad's car. The times needed something at the furniture store and would work out a purchase deal. Then there are the times Don dropped off Mackerel at the house so we could have a feed. And the times we stopped at Don's place on the Glebe Road just to say hi! on foot (just a few feet away from our cottage at the time) or by car; and the parties our parents would have on the Glebe Road. The many times Don stopped by to comfort our parents, Robert and Margaret Knorr, in their retirement years. The times at the Anglican Parish of St. Andrews. Do rest at peace Don, your memory will live in the hearts and minds of those who knew you best and your family. Amen

I didn't know Don very well. I did feel his kindness and devotion to family, two traits that I feel are of utmost importance. He was very kind to me. I send my condolences to his entire family, especially his son Paul and his wife Joan. They are both very important to me.t9a

Our family bought the Oxner family home on the corner of Ernest and Montague when I was about 7, across from the Brownriggs. Of course, like EVERYONE, we bought our furniture and flooring at Thompkins. Paul played at our wedding in 1981 and was my 3rd client when I opened my doors in 1980. He and I once had a very funny trip to Nova Scotia together. I was honoured to be Betty's hairdresser. And Don has been an unwaveringly loyal client and friend for nearly 40 years. Kind, patient, concerned, dependable, funny, and respectful, always. Mary Janet would tell him he needed a haircut and I would complain about the paint on his glasses while I cleaned them after his haircut. He would usually look around my place to see if there was anything he could scrounge with occasional success. He kept very busy taking care of his stable of women, making sure our kindling boxes were always full. He loved to keep me up to date on his family. I hope he is happily reunited with Betty, Blaine, and Jimmy to name a few. Sorely missed does not adequately express the loss we all feel.
