Obituary of Velma Lillian Beazley

BEAZLEY, Velma Lillian- Age 95, Sambro, passed away peacefully March 22, 2019 in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born in East Pennant on July 4, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Alexander “Sandy” and Hannah (Young) Schnare. Velma lived life to its fullest and always enjoyed the outdoors. She loved to fish, hunt, tend to her flower garden, blueberry picking, sitting outside and reading archie comics. Later, she became the caretaker at St. James United Church, Sambro, for many years and was also a member of the choir. She had great stories to tell with a twinkle in her eye. She is survived by her son Eric Journeay (Bernice); grandchildren, Julie and Douglas; brother Royce (Irene) Schnare , special great niece Jackie (Doug) Garrison and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Beazley; son, Earl Beazley; brothers: Arthur, Oliver, Leslie, Weldon, Earl; sisters: Loretta, Rhoda, Vera, Nettie. Many thanks to the wonderful care she received from everyone who worked at Arborstone, especially the 3rd floor. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, March 27 at 2 p.m. at St. James United Church, Sambro; Rev. Helene Burns officiating. Reception to follow in church hall. Donations may be made in Memory of Velma to St. James United Church, Sambro. Family internment to take place at a later date.
