I’m so sorry for the loss of a truly sweet husband, father, friend and pop.
I didn’t get to know Stanley very well, but I wanted to share 3 memories I do have of him;
our eldest was small infant, and as I was sitting on the back deck feeding her, and Stanley stops the lawnmower to ask if she was asleep, if she was napping he “didn’t want to disturb her” and he would continue mowing later. That’s the kind of considerate man I learned he was.
Our middle child at age 2 was playing around the backyard and ran up to Stanley as he was puttering around in his shed. I watched from the window as he bent down and smiled at the kids and zipped up her coat for her that she had undone after I had bundled her. You could see the compassion there as he looked at her, smiled, and zipped her jacket.
Our well was low in the very dry heat of the summer one year and Stanley offered my husband to stick his hose down the well to give us some until it filled back up again. He was so kind.
We have been grateful to have been surrounded by such great people here in Terence Bay. Stanley (and family) have shown us compassion and kindness. I’m very sorry for the loss of such a great person. I know Brent loved talking to Stanley when he had a chance to see him in the backyard.
Our heartfelt condolences to the whole family.
