Obituary of Steven Patrick Rudolph Minnis

Age 27 of Halifax passed away on April 10, 2019 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary site. Steven is described as Joy, laughter and love, he was the type of kid that would get on your last nerve to the breaking point and make you laugh all at the same time. He had a huge heart for the homeless, even when he had nothing to give, he would give the clothes off his back and shoes off his feet to make someone else’s day a little easier. He was a mentor to many youths who lived on the streets and he was know as “Street Daddy” by many.

He is survived by his partents, Donna and Malcolm Minnis; brother, Glenn (Kelly); sisters, Kathy, Becky (Arthur) Wells; brother-in-law, Jeremy Scott; nieces, Kristen, Brittany, Brandi, Shelley; nephews, Ryan (Mikayla), David; great-niece, Hannah; many aunts and uncles from the Skinner, White and Minnis families.

He was predeceased by his birth mother, Christine Skinner; birth father, Tom.

 Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., where visitation will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2019 from 1-3pm with a service in the chapel at 3pm. In lieu of flowers donation in Stevens memory can be made to Mission Mart or a charity of one’s choice.

You are the mother he received the day you birthed your son.

So I want to thank you Chris, for the loving thing you've done. 

You've given me a lovely son, with whom I share my life.

You are his other mother, and I his lucky Mom.

You used to pat his little head, and now I hold his hand.

You birthed in love a little baby, then gave to me a son.
