I’m so sorry for the loss of Anita, my father and mother were friends with her over the years from Port Dover. I remember her from when I was little. I was very sad to hear this news but I hope she is resting peacefully in heaven. God bless her & her family members and friends.

My heart and thoughts go to my good friend Christine and the bereaved family for the untimely death of Anita. Gone too soon. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace. May you Christine and family find peace and courage to celebrate the many memories you all shared. Blessings and hugs of love and healing. I will plant a fruit tree in her memory in my village Kandale, DR Congo when I travel there this September 2019. Peace

So sorry for your loss and greatly saddened to hear of her passing. She was a sparkling gem of Halifax music and always a delight to talk with. Beyond her talents as a musician and song writer I have known her to be a generous kind and loyal friend. She will be greatly missed.

Anita....I met her in a Halifax cafe during a poetry ready...went on to become close friends. I was attracted to her. We spent many hours talking about UFO's, music, God....and so much that can't be said. I loved her. She had an honest purity that often went against the mainstream...exactly what I liked so much about her. I can 't help but feel she is not as far away as it seems....Anita...five letters that spell a big part of my heart.

My sympathies to the friends & family of sweet and bubbly Anita, whom so many of us here in Port Dover have missed since she left. My family and I would see her at the Silver Lake Market most Saturdays and she would gleefully play the Spider-Man theme song for my three sons, who were thrilled each and every time. Anita always insisted the boys play some notes on her accordion themselves and heaped praise upon them and always left them feeling like musical superheroes themselves. She took such a liking to them, in fact, that she insisted my oldest son, Rex, “take care of my old accordion for me and have fun with it” when she left town. You may be pleased to know that Rex has indeed learned how to play some simple songs and that Anita’s old accordion fills our home with music now and again. My boys will be terribly sad to hear that “The Accordion Lady” (as they affectionately called her) will not be returning to Port Dover after all, but I can assure you they will treasure that accordion and we will think of Anita every time they play Spider-Man. Again, my sympathies to all those closest to Anita.

My sincere condolences on your loss. Anita was a very special woman who always took the time to play the Spider-Man theme song for my boys when she saw them at the Port Dover market. She even took the time to teach them a few cords. She brought many smiles to their faces.

Anita was a true gem. She had such a strong connection with people in general. She and my Dad were quite close and then we in turn got to know her better. It was a loss to the Silver Lake Market when she moved away. May she be playing her accordion with all those who passed before her. Say hi to Barnicle Bill for us Anita! RIP xo

To Anita’s family,
My sincere condolences. Anita’s spirit was pure and genuine. She had such innocent curiosity, and she touched many people’s hearts. I was honoured to have known her and call her my friend.
Rest easy, my friend :(
