Obituary of Stella Lucy Brewer

BREWER, Stella Lucy (Beals), Halifax. Sadly mom passed away January 28, 2020 at the age of 88 after a hard fought battle with dementia Alzheimer’s at the Parkstone Enhanced Care Halifax. Born in Inglisville NS, mom was a daughter of the late Elvin and Elizabeth Beals and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by daughters, Susan Kennedy (Joe), Judy Martin (Donald), Brenda Roberts (Tom), Wanda Hamm (Jim Leopold); son, Alan (Wendie); half-brother, Ronald (Wilma) Stoddart; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one on the way.

She was predeceased by her husband, Doug; son, Barry; son-in-law, Perry Hamm; sisters, Viola, Isabel, Laura; brothers, Floyd, Leslie.

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road. There will be no visitation, service to be held on Monday February 3, 2020 at 11am from the funeral home chapel, burial to follow in St. Johns Cemetery.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the third floor Mount Lane for their love, support, and most of all for bringing dignity to our mom while she fought such a cruel disease. We will never forget you all. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or any seniors group of your choice.
