Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Redmond
Betty passed away peacefully on March 3, 2020 at the Windsor Elms in Falmouth, NS. She was born in Halifax July 31, 1929, the daughter of the late Levi James and Annie (Smith) Phillips.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Basil Redmond; brother, John G. Phillips; sister, Ruth Guy. She is survived by her brother, William “Bill” Phillips, Halifax and many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Betty worked at the Nova Scotia Light & Power/NS Power Corporation for 36 years before her retirement. She greatly enjoyed volunteer work. She spent some 17 years volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross. Betty was a lover of cats and truly missed having one around in her later years.
The family wishes to thank the incredible caregivers at the Windsor Elms and the staff at Shannex Parkland and Melville Heights. Your support and compassion were a great comfort to Betty in her time of need. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, however, a gathering of family members and friends will occur at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association in Betty’s name.
