Obituary of Leonard Vincent Newman

Age 61, Halifax, passed away March 10th, 2020 at the Halifax Infirmary. Leonard had worked for the City of Halifax for 35 years.

He is survived by his mother, Doreen (Musolino) and step father Donald Archibald “Dad”; sister, Krystal Murphy (Brent); special aunt, Shelley; niece, Ashley Chaisson (Joe); former wife, Tina Newman (Brad); uncles, Eugene (Sandra), Randall (Barb), Gary (Paula), Darrell (Susan); aunt Janice and many cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Anne; maternal grandparents Alvina and Angelo Musolino; step grandfather John Musolino; uncle, Angelo Jr and aunt, Patricia "Patsy".

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. where visitation will be Friday March 20th from 6-9 pm. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 21st at 1pm from Emmanuel Anglican Church Herring Cove Rd. Rev. Michelle Bull officiating. Reception to follow at the Spryfield Legion Sussex St. Interment to take place at a later date in Emmanuel Anglican Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of the Halifax Infirmary 5.2 and 8.2 for their care given to Leonard and to Rev. Michelle Bull, Donnie Cameron of Walkers Funeral Home and to special friend of the family, Loreena MacDonald.

As a precaution with the talks of the covid-19 virus, the family of the late Leonard Vincent Newman are postponing the visiting and service until a later date. Please check with the website around the start of May for updated information.
