Obituary of Gladys Jean Marryatt

84, Halifax, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2020 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Edith May Sweet (Dicken) and Gordon Sweet.  She was a long-time member of Brunswick Street United Church, being married there on June 14, 1958. Mom will always be remembered fondly by many family and friends far and near as she touched their lives with her thoughtful cards. Surviving are loving daughter Pearl (Andrew Flemings) Halifax; granddaughter Kendra Gail Flemings, the light of her life; sister in-laws Margaret (Day) Sweet, Halifax, Kathleen (Marryatt) Caspersen, Massachusetts; brother in-law Harold Marryatt, Lower Sackville. She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Sylvester Marryatt, April 3, 2010; brother, Kenneth and sister-in-law Bernadette (Branch) Sweet; sister, Freda “Sylvia” Slaunwhite; brother Gerald Sweet; and a twin brother and sister in infancy.  Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Burial in East Pennant Cemetery at a later date.
