Obituary of Barbara Jean Miller

passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2020. Living in Spryfield, she was born in Digby, to the late Freeman Barton and the late Agnes Miller. Jean is survived by her sons; Fred Miller (Joanne), Digby; Webster Miller, Halifax; Ray Miller, Halifax; daughters, Robyn Miller, Toronto; Stephanie Miller, Halifax; sister, Ruth “Tiss” Patterson (Byron), Halifax; grandchildren, Kelly-Jean Miller, Issac Miller, Bailey McBurney, Micah McBurney, Dexter Miller, Kanosha Derry, Kyla Derry, Latoya Miller, Stormy Miller, Sakara Miller, Seth Miller, Sanchez Miller, Rico Kelsey, Trey Miller, Devon McNeil, Jaden McNeil; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special son and daughter, Cecil Clayton and Donna Slaunwhite. Jean was predeceased by her son, Dexter Miller; daughter, Julie Derry; brother, Richard Barton along with her sisters, Ruby Miller and Dorothy Bailey.

Jean enjoyed her time visiting at Northwood with her veterans, her Wednesday night visits with Mrs. Norris, listening to her Gaithers on Fridays, watching Charles Stanley’s services every Sunday morning before attending church herself and visiting with her grandson Trey. Jean is immensely loved and will continue to be by all of those who had the blessing of being in her life.

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will take place on Thursday, August 6 from 2-4 & 6-8pm, With her Celebration of Life being held on Friday, August 7 at 1pm. In the funeral home chapel. A second service will be held on Saturday, August 15 at the Acaciaville Baptist Church at 1pm in Conway.
