Obituary of Natalie Nicole Pierno

Age 24, of Halifax. It is with heavy hearts that we regret to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Natalie. Natalie was brought into our lives at the young age of 4 and showed us each and every day how to enjoy life. Natalie is survived by her beautiful daughter, Na'zariah; mother, Karen Wright; brother, Kirk Wright (LIndsay); nephew, Gerry, all of Halifax; sister, Natasha Pierno (Justin); nephew, Thomas of Calgary; uncle, Bruce Wright (Lana), Rocky Mountain House, Alta.

Natalie was an international baton twirler and competed all over the world with numerous titles and awards to her credit. Along with her sister Natasha and coach JoAnne Manson, Natalie paved the way for hundreds of twirlers. She was a role model and a mentor to the younger twirlers not only encouraging them, but truly made everyone she met believe they could do anything. Natalie was an avid user of social media including Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. I don't think anyone would argue she was the original "Selfie Queen". If you were apart of Natalie's social media world it would not be a surprise to get a random message from her just to wish you well, congratulate, encourage or tell you how much you meant to her. Natalie just loved people and always made sure you knew it. She loved to cook and create new recipes from scratch or her take on the Cape Breton classics that she was raised on. True to Natalie's natural passion to help others, she was attending NSCC with goals towards becoming a Dental Hygienist. She loved all of her Nova Scotia family and shared a special bond with Nanny Rose, Breagha, Beth and Taylon Cadney, Klea and Mea, Dawn, Laura, Gerald and Savannah.

Natalie leaves behind so many close friends and family all over Canada including her biological parents Lissa and Russel; sisters, Jillissa, Justina and Jennifer; as well as several nieces and nephews. Natalie's infectious laugh, energetic personality, knowing smirk and zest for life will be a void in all of our lives. We will always remember her with the love she so willingly and unconditionally gave to us all.

Arrangements have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Donations can be made to Mental Health and Addictions Nova Scotia or to the education trust fund created in her daughter's name.
