Obituary of Edward A Keddy
87, Spryfield, passed away peacefully at Northwood Ivany Place on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Born in New Ross he was a son of the late Augustine and Grace Keddy.
Ted worked for 35+ years as a civilian for DND. He was a life-long member of IOOF Lodge.
Dad loved his family and kept in touch with them daily. He was proud of each of them. He was willing to help us out in whatever way possible through the years. He often treated us to suppers or gifts of money. He never forgot a birthday, anniversary, graduation or birth of a child.
It was a difficult transition for dad after mom’s passing with him having to leave his home to go to a long term care facility. But he never complained about the choices his children were making for his well being.
He is survived by his sons; Stephen (Arlene) and Craig (Valerie) and daughter Amy (David); 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother Garnet; sisters; Greta, Kaye and Marcelle. Ted was predeceased by his wife Kay of 57 years and 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be on Sunday, July 10th from 5-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 11th at 2pm from the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s memory can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
