37, Halifax. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicole on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, she was the beloved daughter of James “Jim” and Sheila (Lewis) Higgins.
Nicole’s son, Aidan meant everything to her. She loved him with all her heart, just the way she loved her entire family. Nicole will be fondly remembered for her love of Majorettes, having been a twirler and a coach for many years.
She is survived by her treasured son, Aidan Higgins-Patton, and his father, Harold Patton. She will also be lovingly remembered by her parents, Jim and Sheila; her brothers, Tony Jollimore (Lori), Shane Fraser (Michele), and Jimmy Higgins (Tasha); her nieces and nephews; a very special great-nephew, Saion, born January 7, 2021; her maternal grandmother, Brenda Lewis (Gerard); as well as aunts, Bernice (Con), Mauretta (Peter), Joyce and Pauline; uncle, Shawn Lewis (Laura); many friends and cousins. Nicole was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Robert Lewis and her paternal grandparents, Bill and Evelyn Higgins.
Cremation will take place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home. A private family, by invitation only, service will be scheduled. A celebration of Nicole’s life will also be held for extended family and friends in the summertime, once COVID restrictions have been lifted. Family flowers only by request.
