Obituary of William Albert Edmond Joseph Slaunwhite

We are sorry to announce the passing of William Albert Slaunwhite on January 16, 2021, age 89. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Russell and Hazel (Sears).

He retired as a Captain with the Halifax Fire Department after nearly 35 years of service. In his younger years Bill loved to hunt, fish and play hockey for the Halifax Fire Department. Bill played baseball for various teams, he loved to golf, go out to the casino and he loved the Toronto Maple Leafs and St. Louis Cardinals, he was a real sports fan. He was also involved with horse racing for several years owning two horses of his own at Eric Whebby Stables. Bill was very proud to say he was from Terrence Bay.

Predeceased by his brother Keith (Jean). Survived by Betty Maxner; brothers, Jim (Doreen), Ron (Helen); children, Billy (Sharon), David (Denise), step-children Wayne (Kayo) Maxner, Shelley (Charles) Oickle; grandchildren, Vanessa, Karli, Matthew, Shelbi Allen, and Tyler Maxner; great grandchild Dawsyn Allen.

Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Interment to take place at a later date.
