Obituary of Mark Fawson
64, Halifax, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2021, with his loving daughter holding his hand at Hospice Halifax. Born in Halifax, He was a son of the late Emmett and Florence (Fenn) Fawson. Mark was involved in many trades including welding, mechanics and home building with his father’s family business. He worked all his life around vehicles and tow trucks, always there to lend a helping hand. Building his 1947 “Rat Rod” was his latest accomplishment. He is survived by his loving daughter, Sandy Fawson (Jason Abraham), his partner of 20+ years, Teresa Countaway, as well as his sisters, Heather Hardiman, Brookside, and Zena (Dwight) Giles, Prospect, his brother, Kevin (Theresa), Waverley and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by a celebration of Mark’s life beginning at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Please note COVID-19 restrictions are in place. All attending are required to wear a mask and sign in for COVID tracing purposes. Following the service, Mark will be driven in his “rat rod” to Tim Horton’s. All are welcome to follow. The family would appreciate donations in memory of Mark to Hospice Halifax.
