Obituary of Sherman Norwood Hart

Age 91, Sambro, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2021 with his loving wife of 65 years by his side. Born in Sambro, he was a son of the late Colin and Bernice Hart.

Sherman started working as a fisherman and then worked for 25 years at Brenton Gray’s Boatyard, retiring from B&J Fisheries. Sherman loved music. He was an avid musician, starting with the fiddle at the age of 10. He mastered the fiddle, banjo and mandolin. He played for many years with Wayne Gray and the Seasides, and in later years performed at the Golden Age Social Club, sharing his love of music for all to enjoy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Goldie (Gray); sons, Donny (Mandy), Sambro; Michael (Debbie), Allie (Sharon), both of Herring Cove; sister, Pauline; sister in law, Betty McPhee; grandchildren, Kady (Douglas), Brandon (Maria), Matthew (Jill), Michael (Tiffany), Nicholas (Jessica), Emma (Matthew), Abby (Justin), Maggie (Jacob) and Julia (Ryan); great grandchildren, Rachel, Casey, Samuel, Sadie, Charlotte, Cameron and Jack. Sherman was predeceased by grandson, David Hart; brother, James McPhee, sister, Ivy Henneberry and brother in law, Lewis Henneberry.

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. As per Sherman’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Interment to take place at a later date.
