Obituary of Marguerite Elizabeth Bryden

Marguerite Elizabeth (Rose) Bryden, 80

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Marguerite Elizabeth Bryden on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021, Elk Court, Brookfield, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Charles Rose and Ethel Hatt. Maggie was born in Springhill on June 15th, 1941.

As a young women she worked at The School for the Blind in Halifax. After which she married and cared for her husband and two sons. Then returned back to the workforce at the Sears Department Store. In her later years she worked at the Middle Musquodoboit Memorial Hospital assisting the adult day program. Caring for others was always a huge part of Maggie's character.  She spent a great deal of her time nurturing her grandchildren. She was a member of the Upper Stewiacke Church through choir and Bible studies and was an avid reader who loved to write poetry, draw and paint. Maggie enjoyed snowmobiling, swimming and especially the ocean where she spent many summers with her family at Heather's Beach. A soul so true and full of kindness - an angel on earth.

She will lovingly be remembered by all who knew her and lovingly missed by her son Wayne (wife Angela), Daughter-in-law Marilyn, grandson Chad (Aliesja), granddaughter Amber (Daniel) and great-granddaughter Meadow. Sisters Connie Rose, Bonnie Hatt Matthews, Brother Charles (wife Carroll) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Finlay, son David, and sister, Olive Poole.

Thank you to the staff of Elk Court for the special care and support received during her stay. Mom will be welcomed with open arms from some very special angels. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Spryfield.

A funeral service will be held on November 20, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Anglican Church in Spryfield with Rev.
