The family of the late William Hatt, of Halifax announces with great sadness the passing of a wonderful father, grandfather, brother
and friend. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, December 17th 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. Born August 9th, 1939 in Beech Hill, Lunenburg Co. He was the son of the late William and Evelyn (Hubley) Hatt.

He lived in Beech Hill until he moved to Halifax with his family. He worked many years at various jobs and had an entrepreneurial spirit, owning his own gas station. Other jobs included working at Grace Maternity Hospital and Standacoma Hospital until a work injury. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved the outdoors. He also had many collections but his favorite was his "duck" collection started by his son Mark. As a Christian he loved the Lord and spent his last days reading God's Word. He was a faithful longtime member of One Church (Calvary Tabernacle) of Halifax, until his illness prevented him from attending.

He was predeceased by his wife Greta, son Mark, daughter Beth, grand-daughter Susanna, grand-son John, sisters Ruth and Anna. He is survived by his son Andrew Hatt of Halifax, daughter Angela (Dean) Timbers of Toronto, Tammy (Colin) Elmer of Halifax. His grandchildren James Cruickshanks, Kayle (Melissa) Hatt, Faith (Mitchel) Blais, Samuel Timbers all of Ontario and Alicia and Tristan Elmer of Halifax. His three great-grandchildren Delta, Emersyn and Rosalie all of
Ontario. His loving sister Elaine (Emmanuel) Lange and nephews Warren (Danita), Kim (Liz) Lange. Great nieces Tali and Miranda Lange as well as other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private family service will be held on Thursday December 23rd with interment to follow in Beech Hill. Online condolences are welcome and can made on the 'Tribute Wall' located in the sidebar. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Nova Scotia Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke, or a charity of your choice.
