Eva Marie Dystant (Tarr)

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear mother Eva at Lower Sackville on February 12, 2022.  Born in South Maitland she was the daughter of the Late Alfred H. Tarr and Elizabeth (Rath) Tarr.  She was the last remaining member of her family.

Before meeting dad and settling down to start a family, mom worked with her blind brother John at the CNIB canteen,  and later at Morris Chocolates.

Mom was a stay at home mom, always there when you needed her.  She loved to knit  and crochet.  She made numerous Mary Maxim sweaters for her grandkids and family.  She was also involved in knitting hats for preemies at the IWK. She was known for knitting numerous dish cloths, towels and even mittens which she would donate for various church functions and charities.  She loved doing the weekly lexicons and her word find books.

She was well known for making the best tea biscuits ever just ask our American Cousins, she also made the best chocolate chip cookies.

Surviving are her daughters Gloria (Richard), Colleen (Calvin), Norma (Gary)  and her only son Lea (Donna), five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
