This is a photo taken of Mrs. and Mr. King in 2003. They were wonderful neighbours and friends to my parents, Ruth and Thomas Spence on Cavendish Road in Halifax for many years. I continued to visit with them whenever I returned home to Halifax to visit with my mother and even after my mother passed away. We were very sad to hear of Mr. Kings passing. I just learned of Mrs. Kings passing yesterday, (September 14th, 2023) when I tried to telephone Mrs. King. My deepest condolences to their son and his wife. The kings were always very kind and friendly to my parents and myself whenever I saw them. May they both rest in internal peace.
Sincerely,
Jack (John) Spence
Ottawa, Ontario.

Aunt Carolyn was a big part of our lives when we all lived so closely to each Bishop-related family in River de Chute. As happens, we all eventually moved hours away from each other, and the big get togethers became fewer, and farther apart. But, as cousin Bruce mentioned, there are things that stick out, and those smile makers are what we need to keep, as those precious times from youth now become gold memories. Mine was celebrating her fortieth birthday. It was my first flight, an AC prop Viscount from Toronto with my now late sister, Janice. One of the gifts opened was an avocado green electric carving knife: basically a motor, and two knives to click in. I'm not sure if it was from Uncle Bert or his sister, Catherine. Simple assembly - in normal times. But somehow, the tall glasses of Coke and ginger ale had been spiked from a big bottle of rum, making the task most difficult for the five or six of us each trying to show off our mechanical knowledge. After a half hour of giggling and frustration, someone finally managed to jam those things in so tight, they couldn't be removed, but at least they stopped flying off. It worked, but like a a pair of scissors screwed together backwards, a terror to handle, shredding anything within reach - a memory worthy of a comedy movie scene. With our condolences: Carolyn's sister Beatrice Elaine Bishop Terlecki, my sister Nancy Ann and her husband Pieter Henstra, and myself, Bill Gregory Terlecki.

My deepest condolences, I had the pleasure of working with Carolyn in the Seats credit department for several years in 1981. She was in her early fifties and I was 19.
We connected immediately, always dressed to the nines her sense of humour was fantastic.
Wr shared many laughs , she always spoke of her beloved Sammy , Bert and Lottie.
She loved CNN and Larry King and he musician was Jerry Lee Lewis…. Each time I hear Whole lot of shaking going on I will smile in memory of you

Aunt Carolyn was a tremendous lady and one of the best funniest people I ever met. I still remember about 40 years ago, being in a restaurant and hearing her unmistakable voice without seeing her. Upon finding her, I gave a shout and she said “what are you going to put in the Observer about me now”! It was a funny funny moment. The Observer was a local New Brunswick newspaper. RIP.
