Obituary of Shirley Mabel Marriott

Marriott, Shirley Mabel - Halifax - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Marriott formerly of Lakeside, on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the age of 87. Shirley loved music and dancing  and DJing dances at the Armdale Fire Hall.  She loved bingo, darts, cards, and of course a nice cold beer. She volunteered and fought for many community services such as water and sewer, a community hall, as well as buses and bus shelters for her beloved Kline Heights. She was well known for her brownies and date squares. She really enjoyed her road trips with Nancy, Murdock and Florence. Shirley is survived by son Larry (Mary), grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, and Ashley, great grandchildren, Tyler, Peyton, and Cohen; son Stephen (Beverley), grandchildren, Brad and Dale; daughter, Christine (Donald) Gabriel, grandchildren Stephanie and Nicole; Sister Annette Parnell. She was predeceased by husband Ernie in 2010. Cremation has taken place under the care of J Albert Walker Funeral Home 149 Herring Cove Rd, Spryfield, where visitation will take place Thursday, September 8 from 7-9 PM. There will be a Celebration of Life Sunday, September 11 at the Lakeside Legion 231 Greenhead Rd, Lakeside, the service will start at 1 with a light lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Seaside FM.
