Janice Mary Elizabeth (Leger) Wombolt

 

 

"It is with profound sadness that the family of Janice Wombolt announces her peaceful passing at the QE2 Hospital, Halifax on October 6th.  A loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Janice will be sadly missed by her husband of 50 years, James (Jim), their two daughters: Jessica Warren (Bruce) and Jaime (Paul Clarke), her grandchildren:  Martino Wombolt-Ceschi (Sohee Park), Maxwell Warren and A.J. Warren, Milo, Levi and Oscar Clarke.  Also mourning her loss are her mother, Genevieve (Marangoni)  Browne (Leger); her brothers Don (Monique) Leger, Joel (Bernice) Leger,  her sisters; Denise Gautreau (Jean), Virginia Soucy (Pierre), Adele Leger and Anita Lahey (Iain MacGowan); many international students they sponsored and treated as their own: Yuna Lee, Sting Lai & Sohee Park still living locally.  She is also survived by aunts Rachel and Lucille, uncle Martin and many cousins from coast to coast.

 

Janice was predeceased by her father, Hubert Leger, her step-father Ronald Browne, her brothers Gerald, Robert and Michael, her brother-in-law David Lahey and her nephew Joshua.

 

Janice retired from Industry Canada, Bankruptcy, where she worked for 17 years.  She loved life to the fullest and was all about people.  She was the heartbeat of our family and could always sense when somebody needed a shoulder to cry on.  She was a friend to everyone and everyone wanted to be her friend.  We will miss your infectious smile and humor and your beautiful soul.

 

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax Nova Scotia, B3P 1K6.  In keeping with Janice's wishes there will be a visitation held Wednesday October 12, 2022 from 2-4 pm at the funeral home. There will be no funeral service.
