Obituary of Helena Marie Hopper

Hopper, Helena Marie:  64, Lakeside, NS, passed away following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Fairman.  Helena had many careers throughout her life, including waitressing, bartending and owning a bar.  At present, she was working full-time with Transcontinental Printing as the lead mailroom coordinator.  Family was most important to her and will fondly be remembered as the “community mom”.  Helena had a fabulous sense of humour and was a collector of jokes.  Everyone who knew her loved her.  She loved music, gardening, swimming, and Korean cinema.  Helena loved her family dearly, and she will be sadly missed by her daughters, Tabatha “Tabby” Fairman and Christa-Lee Callahan, adopted daughter Yvonne Cromwell, her partner, Oscar “Tommy” Arsenault, siblings, Russell Fairman, Robert Fairman, and Patricia Joseph, special aunts, Deani and Edna, and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.   She will be missed by her fur babies, Beastie and Warrior, as well as her fur-grandbabies, Taco and Finn.  Helena will also be remembered by her many co-workers, especially Paula Robbins. She was predeceased by her parents, and an infant daughter, Michelle Diane Callahan .

Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, where a celebration of Helena’s life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 2-4pm.   In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of one’s choice.  To send condolences to the family, please visit www.walkerfh.com
